With heavy
hearts, the family of Carol Marie Septon-MacKenzie announces her
peaceful passing on December 27, 2025, at St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, surrounded by loved
ones.

Carol was a
devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth,
generosity, and resilience touched all who knew her. Deeply rooted in
the Antigonish community, she spent her life caring for others with
unwavering kindness.

Predeceased by
her parents, Angus and Rita (Duggan) MacNeil, and survived by her
sisters Olive Mattie and Teresa (John)
Oostvogles.

Lovingly
remembered by her children: Darlene (Joey) van Oirschot, Stace Septon,
Patrick (Cindy) Septon, and Sean Septon.

“Nan’s” grandchildren were her
greatest joy. She cherished making memories through art, sports
events, through knitting. Grandchildren: Colby (Nicole), Brea
(Keagan), Tyler, Chloe (Karim), Noah, Maranda, Samantha (Eli), and
Holly; great-grandchildren: Elijah, Wyatt, Bonnie, Drew, and
Isaac.

Mom, loved her
work, at 81, she was still a causal employee at the RK Mac Donald
Nursing Home.

The family
extends heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital for their exceptional compassion
and care.

A Celebration
of Life will be held at the Saint Andrews District Community Centre
(86 Pomquet River Rd., Antigonish), Tuesday, December 30, from
2:00–4:00 p.m.
