VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – A man was shot and killed by officers responding to a disturbance at a home late Saturday night, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
Shortly before midnight, officers were called to the scene of a disturbance at a home in the 13200 block of Northeast 46th Street in Vancouver.
A 911 caller had reported that a man was outside the home, pointing a gun at a woman inside the home, and had fired “at least” one round at the time of the call.
Police say the man “confronted” responding officers with a gun, before he was shot and killed by two officers. The man was taken to a hospital, but pronounced dead upon arrival.
The officers involved had been placed on immediate leave, per standard protocol, the Vancouver PD said.
This is a developing story and will be updated as any new information is made available.
