IMPD was called to the 8100 block of Meadow Bend Lane, near East Stop 11 and Shelbyville roads, around 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28.

INDIANAPOLIS — An alleged suspect has been arrested after a family disturbance led to a deadly shooting Sunday afternoon on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

According to IMPD, around 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 28, officers were called to the 8100 block of Meadow Bend Lane, near East Stop 11 and Shelbyville roads, on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition where she later died.

IMPD Sgt. Amanda Hibschman told 13News at the scene that witnesses told officers about a vehicle that had fled the scene. Officers were able to track the vehicle down and pull it over. Its driver, identified as an adult male, was detained. 

On Dec. 29, police said that the alleged suspect was arrested. 


Hibschman also said officers believed the incident began as a “disturbance among family members.”
