Passengers were evacuated from an Aer Lingus plane at Manchester Airport after it had to make an emergency landing.

The airline said flight EI030 from Barbados to Manchester had a “technical issue” on Monday morning.

An airline spokesperson said the “aircraft was met by emergency services as a precaution and passengers have safely disembarked”, just before 08:00 GMT.

The flight had left Bridgetown, Barbados, just before 19:30 GMT on Sunday.
