Burnaby emergency crews responded to a structure fire at a home in the Edmonds Park area Monday evening.

Assistant Fire Chief Joe Mora says the Burnaby Fire Department arrived at the home on 16th Avenue near Humphries Court to discover flames coming from the basement windows. He says 32 firefighters knocked down the flames.

Mora says no one was reported injured, aside from some firefighters suffering minor smoke inhalation.

The fire was reportedly contained to the basement and kitchen, but the home was damaged by smoke, and three people were displaced.
