Work is set to start on a scheme to replace water pipes in a Lincolnshire village.

Anglian Water said the £3.1m project to upgrade 4.5km (2.8 miles) of water pipes in Old Leake, near Boston, will start on 5 January and is expected to be completed next summer.

Road closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place during the work.

Georgia Phillips, customer experience specialist, said the project would “make sure we can keep taps running and toilets flushing for residents in and around Old Leake for years to come”.
