Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect following an unprovoked assault in the City of Vaughan.
Just after 6 p.m., on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, police attended a plaza parking lot in the area of Mable Smith Way and Interchange Way for a report of an assault. Two victims were walking when an unknown male approached them from behind, grabbed one of the victims and assaulted them with a sharp object before fleeing.
The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident, to please come forward.
