Made a couple of decent saves, ones you would expect him to make but he was fantastic with his feet today and played through the City press over and over again.
Played mostly in midfield today and did a really good job, helped out Geertruida when needed and will probably be disappointed with the header he steered over before the break.
Bullied Haaland from the first whistle, didn’t let the striker have a moment’s peace and was very aggressive in winning the ball back in our half. Played a really good ball over the top for Brobbey in the first half.
A different kind of brilliant to Mukiele, read the game so well and got himself in the way of so many crosses or attempted shots. Great with the ball too.
Worked so hard down the left to shut down Cherki and really looked the part today, defended well and gave Adingra options going forward.
Lutsharel Geertruida: 8/10
A very good game on and off the ball today, had a great battle in both halves with Savinho and then Doku.
Protected the defence brilliantly through the middle, forcing City wide time and time again. Put an inch perfect cross onto Hume’s head in the first half that could have ended in a goal.
Really showed his class today, had his usual effort off the ball, charging every City player down but was so good on the ball too. Threaded a great ball through to Mayenda in the second half and played one great firs time cross field ball in the first half that started an attack.
Had his best Premier League game for us today and looked more like the Mayenda from last season, plenty of strong running in possession and came so close to scoring from Le Fee’s through ball.
Caused City issues from the left wing and forced the goalkeeper into a good save from a tight angle in the second half, overplayed a few times when in a good position but another decent game.
Held the ball up so well today, bringing others into play in the City half. Bullied Dias off the ball in the first half to get through on goal but his shot probably went to the wrong side of the goal, allowing Donnarumma to save it.
Replaced Brobbey up top and gave us an option time and time again in behind, had a couple of half chances.
Worked really hard off the ball, looks like he’s still trying to come to grips with the Premier League on the ball though.
Man of the Match: Nordi Mukiele
Great displays all over the pitch today but the two centre halves were immense and Nordi Mukiele just shades it for his effort in bullying the Premier League’s top goalscorer out of the game, was nipping at the Norwegian’s heels from the first minute and was still at it in the last minute. Made plenty of defensive contributions away from Haaland and even set up Brobbey for the game’s best chance.
