Dozens of people have taken to the North Sea in a traditional New Year’s Day charity dip.
Swimmers braved the chilly waters in Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire.
In East Yorkshire, the annual sea swim in Hornsea had to be cancelled due to high waves, so the fire service used their hoses to provide a seaside shower.
It was the second time the event, which raises money for the town’s lifeboat, was called off. Last year, “sewage overflow events” caused its cancellation.
