Services have returned to normal for passengers travelling between Kent and Calais following a power cut in the Channel Tunnel.

Eurotunnel suspended its LeShuttle passenger service through the tunnel at Folkestone on Tuesday. It later resumed but customers in Kent were still facing five-hour delays at 21:00 GMT.

LeShuttle, which provides train services for people and their vehicles, originally warned customers on Wednesday morning of delays of about an hour in Folkestone and about six hours in Calais.

However, estimated delays were reduced throughout the morning before customers were told services were running as scheduled.
