A village residents’ association which made a Christmas tree out of hundreds of crocheted patches hopes to raise over £1,400 for a local hospice.
The three metre (9.8 ft) tree, at Warninglid in West Sussex, was created using 1,000 squares made by local residents.
It was put up on 1 December outside the Half Moon pub, and is due to come down on Friday.
In total 1,324 squares were created, with those not needed for the tree turned into Christmas stockings, sacks and baby blankets to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley.
