The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a shooting in St. John’s on New Year’s Day.
The RNC said around 1:20 a.m. NT, officers responded to a disturbance at Buckmaster’s Rotary Park on Buckmaster’s Circle, where they found a 23-year-old man with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound.
They said they have no information indicating it was a random attack.
In a statement, police said the injury was non-life-threatening, and the man is in hospital for treatment.
No charges have been laid.
