Police say a parked vehicle was struck by the handlebar of an e-bike in September
One person is facing additional charges, including impaired operation, in a late September incident involving an e-bike.
Sault Ste. Marie Police say 911 was called on Sept. 28 to report a parked vehicle being struck by the handlebar of an e-bike in the 300 block of Second Avenue.
When officers arrived, they believed the suspect was impaired by alcohol, but say the suspect refused to provide a breath sample.
Janice Laforge, 54, was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, police laid the following additional charges:
Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
Operation While Prohibited
Mischief – Under $5,000
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on March 2.
