A youth has life-threatening injuries after being attacked by three dogs while riding a bike in Welshtown, N.S., according to Shelburne RCMP.

In a news release Monday, RCMP said emergency services responded to an incident in the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road just after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The release said officers learned three large-breed dogs had attacked the youth who was riding past a property.

The youth was transported to hospital in Halifax by air ambulance.

The dogs involved in the incident have been euthanized by a veterinarian, the release said.
