Snowfall and icy conditions have led to the closure of some schools, tips and libraries in Lancashire, with residents being warned to “only travel if you absolutely have to”.
A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice is currently in place and more wintry showers are expected in the county throughout the rest of the week.
Several schools closed earlier along with household waste recycling centres in Barnoldswick and Great Harwood and Clitheroe libraries, Lancashire County Council said.
“Please only travel if you absolutely have to, and take care if you are out on the roads over the next few days,” Councillor Warren Goldsworthy said.
