Twenty-three people were hurt after a ride at an amusement park in Saudi Arabia malfunctioned, according to reports.
Video on social media shows the moment when part of the ride appears to snap and the rest of it comes crashing to the ground.
Several people on the ride look around in apparent horror after the crash.
Literally my nightmare,” one person wrote in response to footage that was posted on X.Wow, that’s scary & sad,” another wrote.
A third person expressed concern and offered prayers for people who were involved.
I pray for everyone on the ride that they are healed emotionally, physically and spiritually,” the post noted.
It happened on Wednesday at Green Mountain Park in Taif, Saudi Arabia, according to TMZ. The media outlet said the ride is called 360 Degrees.
The Sun reported that witnesses said the ride’s pole “recoiled at high speed” ahead of the crash. The media outlet said the pole portion of the ride also “reportedly struck some people” who were standing near the ride.
The Sun said riders who were hurt were treated at the scene and then taken to an area hospital.
Law enforcement in Saudi Arabia has launched a probe into the horror,” according to the media outlet. “The area around the ride remained cordoned off while authorities continued investigating.”
