A five-month-old baby is still in critical condition following a multi-vehicle pileup in Laval, Que., that killed a six-year-old girl and injured others.
The collisions occurred on Monday evening on Route 335 between Dagenais Boulevard and Saint-Saëns Street.
Initially, nine people were reported injured by Urgences-santé, including three adults, the five-month old baby and the young girl who eventually died.

On Tuesday, Laval city councillor David De Cotis offered his condolences in a Facebook post, while highlighting the dangers of Route 335 in that area.
He called for the installation of concrete barriers or reinforced medians on the road, temporary traffic-control devices to prevent cross-lane collisions and an “urgent” on-site assessment by transport authorities.
“Even temporary measures can save lives while longer-term solutions are evaluated,” De Cotis said. “The safety of our residents, especially our children, must always come first.”
