On January 6, 2026, we lost our Mom so she could go to
be with our Dad.

Dianne Lee “Diana” MacLean passed away
peacefully at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish,
with her family and friends at her side.

Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Albert
and Caroline (Smith) Poirer.

Called “the Black Beauty” in her younger
days due to her beautiful hair, Diana touched many lives.
She was a very loving and caring person who made friends fast, largely
because she never had a bad word to say about anyone (unless they were
beating her in a game of crib).  A proud homemaker, when she
was young she worked at the Moonlight and other restaurants in
Antigonish to help support her family when her father took
sick.

Diana is survived by her three boys, John C., Paul,
and Trevor, all of Ohio, Antigonish County.  She was deeply
proud of her grandchildren, Kerrrissa, Peyton, Caleb, and Gemma; and
great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gracie.  She is also
survived by her brothers, Donnie, West River; and Sheldon, Calgary;
sisters, Sheila, Calgary; Elaine, New Glasgow; and Pam (Larry),
Country Harbour; in-laws, Collie (Marla), Rodney (Fiona), Gracemary
(Dave), and Cathy (Allan), and many cousins and extended
family.

Predeceased by her husband, John A.; sister, Betty; a
sibling in infancy; and brothers-in-law, Bernard and
Reg.

Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service
will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the
spring.

In Memoriam, donations to St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or the Canadian Cancer
Society appreciated.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses
in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Hospital for
their compassion and care, Amanda for all of her support, Emma for her
kindness, and Tracy, whom Diana considered the daughter she never
had.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L.
Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.  Online
