Waseley Hills High School and Sixth Form Centre is one of the schools that has issued a closure warning, saying conditions would be monitored and assessments made in real time.

“If severe weather were to require a school closure, a decision would be made and communicated by 7am on the morning concerned,” it said.

“To ensure the safety of all of our community, including our staff, we have cancelled after school events, interventions, clubs and fixtures on Thursday 8th January to ensure everyone can get home safely.”
