The pub’s current permitted opening hours are 10:30 to 00:30 from Monday to Saturday, and 12:00 to 23:00 on Sundays.
John Corkett, a licensing officer at Suffolk Police, said the force had received “persistent reports” of activity taking place “long after permitted hours”.
In a document to be considered by the committee, Corkett said a vulnerable family which lives above the pub had had to “endure months of disturbance”.
“The tenant reports her health has suffered and her children frequently exhibit signs of extreme fatigue at school having had little or no sleep,” he said.
“They have had to put up with loud music, shouting and swearing well into the early hours of the morning, sometimes up to and beyond 03:00.”
