Traffic on the M1 is building after a cattle truck overturned on Thursday morning, with the northbound lane closed.
The accident occurred on the northbound M1 between Junction 23 for Loughborough and Junction 23A for the A41, M42 and East Midlands Airport.
Leicestershire Police confirmed the closure and said it was due to a “road traffic accident”. National Highways said “a trailer carrying cattle has been involved in a collision and has overturned”.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The incident was reported just after 6.20am. The driver wasn’t injured and no-one was arrested.”
The closure is still in place.
