Two people were stabbed in and around a TTC subway station on Wednesday, police say, and officers are searching for a suspect.

One person was stabbed inside Dufferin Station, at the corner of Dufferin Street and Bloor Street W., while the other person was stabbed outside a short distance away, according to Toronto police.

Police said they received reports of two people stabbed at the Line 2 station at about 4:45 p.m.

Toronto paramedics said they were called to two separate scenes and took both victims to hospital.

One person has serious but non-life threatening injuries, while the other has minor injuries, paramedics said.

Police provided a “possible” description of the suspect as male, white, with short blonde hair, wearing an orange construction jacket and a black hat.

Officers closed the station and taped off part of the street after the stabbing. Police said the station was reopened at 6:55 p.m.

Subway trains did not stop at Dufferin station while police investigated the incident, but regular service has resumed, the TTC said in a social media post.

The TTC ran buses on Bloor Street W. between Lansdowne and Ossington avenues to accommodate customers during the service disruption.
