Job Security/No Layoffs

For the first restructure to the new system, all regular employees
at the date of the signing of the agreement will be protected by
Article 23.

Pay Protection

If you obtain a new route of lesser value than your old route, you
will keep the value of your old route (up to 8 RMS daily hours)
for 12 months.

Pay for All Hours Worked

When you work more than your scheduled hours, you will be
compensated for all the daily hours you work above your schedule
at the appropriate rate.

40-hour Routes

Installations with 10 or more routes will have a minimum number of
routes guaranteed at 40 hours per week.

All other routes will be built to 40 hours when
“practicable.”

Fixed Schedules

All routes will have fixed schedules with start and end
times.

Variable Work Week

Scheduled hours of work may vary from one day to the next, but no
daily schedule will be longer than 9 hours.

For example, your route may be scheduled for 9 hours Monday, 8
hours from Tuesday to Thursday, and 7
hours on Friday.

On a 40-hour variable work week schedule, you’ll be paid
OT for any hours worked beyond your
daily
schedule.

Meal and Rest Periods

Schedules will include meal and rest periods, depending on the
number of hours worked.

If you work less than 5 hours, you will have a 10-minute paid rest
period.

If you work 5-5.99 hours, you will have a 30-minute paid rest
period.

If you work 6-6.99 hours, you will have a 10-minute paid rest
period and a 30-minute paid meal period.

If you work between 7-8 hours, you will have two 10-minute paid
rest periods and a 30-minute paid meal period.
