Paramedics say a man is in critical condition after a head-on crash on Prince of Wales Drive Sunday morning.
Ottawa Fire Services said it responded to a “serious two-vehicle collision” just south of West Hunt Club Road at 8:51 a.m.
The fire department said in a social media post that the vehicles were found about 45 metres apart, with people trapped inside both of them.
Using hydraulic rescue tools, firefighters safely freed the first driver at 9:05 a.m. and the second driver 15 minutes later.
OFS said they had to lift and pivot the vehicle’s dashboard away from the driver’s legs to safely free them.
Paramedics told CBC that three adults were treated in all. In addition to the critically injured man, a man and woman were taken to the trauma centre in stable condition.
Police said its collision investigations team was called to the scene.
