Nipissing District: Healthcare Leads Steady Market

The Nipissing District recorded 447 job postings in November, representing a marginal month-over-month decline of just 0.7%. However, the long-term outlook appears strong, with postings up 15.5% compared to November 2024.

Industry Spotlight: Health Care & Social Assistance continues to be the primary engine of recruitment, accounting for 31.3% of all postings.

Sector Growth: The Transportation and Warehousing sector saw the most significant growth (+14 postings), likely driven by winter logistics and holiday shipping needs.

Employer Activity: 200 unique employers sought new talent, with the North Bay Regional Health Centre and Voyageur Aviation Corp among the top organizations hiring.

Wages & Requirements: The average hourly wage rose significantly to $32.01 (up 10.2% over the 12-month average). Notably, 24.2% of positions required bilingual candidates.

Parry Sound District: High-Value Roles and Full-Time Growth

Parry Sound saw 98 job postings this month. While this represents a 9.3% decrease from October, the report highlights a shift toward high-value, permanent positions.

Industry Spotlight: Like its neighbor, Health Care & Social Assistance led the district at 34.7% of listings.

Sector Growth: The Accommodation and Food Services sector saw a boost (+6 postings) as local businesses geared up for winter tourism.

Salary Surges: While only a small sample of jobs listed annual salaries, the average jumped to $96,785, anchored by high-demand roles like Associate Dentists and Human Resources Managers.

Stability: 85.7% of all postings were for permanent roles, and full-time opportunities increased to 68.4% of the total pool.
