Buckingham Park’s current pavilion no longer meets the need of the people who use it, with limited cafe space, poor toilets standards and “constant” maintenance to the building itself due to its age.
Plans for a new case with indoor and outdoor seating, modern and accessible toilets and improved changing facilities have already been approved, and the council wants a developer to build the new pavilion within the approved parameters.
Councillor Becky Allinson, Adur’s cabinet member for regeneration and economy, said: “Buckingham Park is a valued asset for our community and its southern pavilion represents an exciting opportunity to create something special for local people and groups.
“This is an opportunity for us to work with a development partner to create a café, toilets and pavilion that the community and visitors can enjoy and be proud of.”
