A 39 year-old female is facing charges following a hit and run incident involving a nine year-old female.
On Friday, January 9, 2026 shortly before 4:00 p.m., police were dispatched to Sangster Boulevard near Boucher Crescent for a report that a child had been struck by a vehicle.
Officers attended to the scene and through investigation learned that a nine year-old female was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene of the collision.
The victim was taken to hospital for further medical assessment and was later released.
The driver contacted police the following day and has since been charged.
Thirty-nine-year-old Safia NUSRAT is charged with:
Fail to Report Accident to Police [TSA 253 (3)];
Fail to Yield to a Pedestrian at Intersection or Crosswalk [TSA 223(1)]; and
Drive a Vehicle Without Due Care and Attention [TSA 213(1)].
NURSAT will make her first appearance in relation to this occurrence in Regina Provincial Court at a later date.
