“Max donated a lot of his money and time to charities that supported nature, wildlife, and democracy,” the tribute reads.
“His death is a tragedy, and he will be greatly missed by so many.”
The force said a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai Ioniq had been involved in the crash and the investigation continues.
It appealed to witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
