Two youth are facing robbery charges following alleged assaults that took place during Facebook Marketplace meet-ups in Calgary, according to police.

Police said the robberies, both of which occurred late last year, were determined to have involved the same pair of teenagers. Both incidents were related to Facebook Marketplace transactions.

On Nov. 1, 2025, a man in Ambleton was pushed to the ground and had an iPhone he intended to sell stolen after meeting the two teenagers at his house, according to police.

The following month, the pair deployed bear spray at a man selling his laptop at his home in Dover, police said. After an altercation, the pair then assaulted the man, police said.

After police identified the pair that month, charges were laid against two youth, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both boys, aged 16 and 17, were charged with two counts of robbery. The 17-year-old was also charged with disguise with intent.

The 16-year-old is set to appear in court this Friday, while the 17-year-old will appear Jan. 30.
