Seven additional Palestinians, including one child, have died from starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip, the territory’s Health Ministry reported on Saturday (2 August).
This brings the total number of starvation-related deaths to 169, of whom 93 were children, reports Al Jazeera.
As famine conditions worsen under Israel’s ongoing blockade and bombardment, residents of Gaza face an increasingly desperate struggle to access food and aid.

Hunger has become a critical threat in the besieged enclave, exacerbated by the collapse of essential services and humanitarian access.

Since Israel’s military campaign began in October, at least 60,430 Palestinians have been killed and 148,722 injured, according to Gaza health authorities.
The war was sparked by the 7 October 2023 attack by Hamas-led fighters that left around 1,139 people dead in Israel and over 200 taken hostage.
