In order to respond to the heavy snowfall across Waterloo Region, snow events have been declared in multiple municipalities.
The City of Cambridge declared a snow event for Thursday, followed by a significant weather event because of the severity of the accumulation.
The City of Kitchener declared a snow event before 9 a.m. on Thursday, making it so that starting at noon, residents need to avoid parking on roadways until noon on Friday.

The City of Waterloo declared a snow event and significant weather event as of noon Thursday, while a snow event took effect in Wilmot Township as of 2 p.m.
The Township of North Dumfries declared a significant weather event on Thursday morning as crews work to clear snow off roadways, sidewalks and parking lots.
The Township of Woolwich followed suit by declaring a significant weather event, which will remain in effect until notice of cancellation has been issued.
A snow event was also declared in Wellesley as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
