Thomas Frank’s future is in the balance after Tottenham Hotspur suffered an embarrassing home defeat to West Ham United.
Spurs fans sang “sacked in the morning” as Frank’s side lost 2-1 against a team in the bottom four and while the hierarchy has been keen to give him time they are now understood to be weighing up a change.
Tottenham have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions and are now 14th in the Premier League table.

Frank said he understands Tottenham supporters’ frustrations after they chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning”

“Of course, I’ve probably had better times, it’s probably not the best time,” Frank said, when asked about the fans singing about his sacking.
“But I understand, I’m the man in charge. So the blame will go to me. That’s fair, no problem in that sense. As long as they are backing the players, doing everything they can to support them and drive them forward, that’s what we do, and we will keep going forward.”
He added: “If you’re not winning enough, we know you will not get enough support from the fans. But when we’re winning, it will change, when we start winning again. Which we will do. I’m not in doubt of that.
“I think also you can look a little bit at the performances. Let’s say the Bournemouth and Villa and this game here, if the players stop running, or stop doing anything, or not working hard, and we are not the team that’s closest to winning, then you can say OK. But I think the team is working very hard.”
Tottenham 1 West Ham 2: match report
Conor Gallagher, who signed this week from Atletico Madrid, was unable to halt Spurs’ slide on his debut.
Spurs this week appointed John Heitinga, the former Ajax manager and Netherlands defender who was part of Arne Slot’s staff when Liverpool won the league last season, as an assistant to Frank.
The 42-year-old was appointed interim manager at Ajax in January 2023 and led them to a third-placed finish in the Eredivisie before joining David Moyes’s backroom staff at West Ham.
