The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after shots were fired at a home in the Bear Creek neighbourhood overnight.

Police were called to a residence on Galway Crescent near Tulsy Crescent shortly before 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a home damaged by gunfire.

The incident is believed to be related to extortion.

Day 17 of 2026 – and extortion violence shows no sign of stopping. Another Surrey family was shaken awake by gunfire around 2:20 a.m. – this time in Bear Creek area.

SPS say the home in the 8600 blk of Galway Cres. was occupied at the time of shooting.

The home was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no injuries have been reported.

SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation and said it will be in the area conducting physical and digital evidence Saturday.
