President Donald Trump fired off a new message aimed at Denmark in a late-night social media post as he continued his push to seize control over Greenland.

“NATO has been telling Denmark, for 20 years, that ‘you have to get the Russian threat away from Greenland.’ Unfortunately, Denmark has been unable to do anything about it. Now it is time, and it will be done!!! President Donald J. Trump”

Trump, who wanted to buy Greenland in his first term, has grown increasingly belligerent on the issue and has even refused to rule out the use of force in taking the island, which is a semi-autonomous Danish territory.

PBS News reported on Sunday that Trump sent a letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre saying that since he did not win the Nobel Peace Prize, “I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

In addition, Trump on Saturday slapped tariffs on eight European nations that he said would be in place until the U.S. has control over Greenland. The tariffs will be 10% starting Feb. 1, increasing to 25% in June if no deal is reached.

Trump earlier this month said he planned to “do something in Greenland, whether they like it or not,” adding: “If we don’t do it the easy way, we’re going to do it the hard way.”
