All westbound lanes of San Mateo Bridge shut down after deadly crash

SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) — One lane in the westbound direction of the San Mateo Bridge has reopened following a deadly accident on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities say two cars were involved in the crash between a van and sedan just before 3 p.m. on Highway 92.

It’s unknown when all lanes will reopen.

The CHP said the passenger of the van was taken to Stanford Hospital. But the driver of the sedan died at the scene. Their identity has not been revealed by the coroner.
