Tonight marks the end of the fourth season of the regular version of The Traitors, whilst there has also been a celebrity version and countless international series for fans to sink their teeth into.

It means the producers have had to keep things fresh so audiences don’t get too familiar with game play on the show.

This series has brought us a lot of entertainment and the introduction of the secret traitor was certainly a big part of that. It was revealed they would wear a red cloak, which came with its own powers.

The secret traitor was able to decide which three players were up for murder each night, allowing the three traitors at the time – Stephen, Rachel and Hugo, to decide from their list. The revelation that it was Fiona pulling the strings came in the fourth episode, when Claudia’s decision to pick Fiona was shown to the audience for the first time.

“Hollywood is beckoning. I can feel it,” said a laughing Fiona as she revealed her existence to the other traitors in the turret.

The next new twist wasn’t until one of the final episodes, when it was revealed someone would be given a dagger, allowing them two round table votes instead of one.

The traitors decided this power would go to James, whose power-hungry behaviour after receiving it made the castle incredibly suspicious.

It helped him to banish Matthew, who he had been suspecting and interrogating across several episodes. But when Matthew was revealed as a faithful, this once again caused chaos as players speculated at whether James was actually a double-bluffing traitor as opposed to a flustered faithful.
