The FBI has released footage of Canadian former Olympian and alleged drug kingpin Ryan Wedding being escorted off a plane after he was arrested in Mexico City.
Surrounded by FBI officials with his hands cuffed, a stoic Ryan Wedding is escorted off a plane after arriving at a California airport on Friday morning.
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation released the video of Wedding following the announcement of his arrest.
In the video, the Canadian, a former Olympic snowboarder, is wearing a black cap, a grey long-sleeved shirt, a black puffer vest with a hood, blue jeans, and grey sneakers with a thick dark stripe on the outer sides.
Wedding was taken into custody in Mexico on Thursday night, ending the years-long manhunt for the 44-year-old who was on the FBI’s Top 10 most wanted fugitives.
The FBI said the Canadian is believed to be supported by the Sinaloa Cartel and was responsible for a transnational drug trafficking operation, which saw hundreds of kilograms of cocaine shipped from Colombia to the U.S. and Canada.
In addition to being behind a multibillion-dollar drug empire, he is also accused of at least four murders in and around the Greater Toronto Area.
