Our electricity supply is getting close to maximum capacity with the province-wide cold snap.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has issued a “Power Warning” which means that customers should conserve where they can, and be prepared for rotating outages.

The utility suggests that people turn back their thermostats a few degrees, and limit the use of hot water.

The cold snap will continue through the weekend with no relief until throughout the day Monday.
