An investigation is underway following an early morning fire at a Kitchener apartment building.
Regional police say emergency services responded to a fire at an apartment building in the area of Queen Street South and Charles Street East around 4:10 a.m.
The fire was extinguished by the Kitchener Fire Department, who say the fire was believed to have started on the second floor.
Two residents have been accounted and work is underway to find two more. The Ontario Fire Marshall has also been contacted.
No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Initial reports show structural damage to the building and firefighters say significant restoration work will be needed. At the time there is no estimate on damages.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
