The Met Office has widened the scope of snow on Monday to MORE areas, as the country threatens to be disrupted by a fresh band of the white stuff. The Met Office has issued forecasts for Monday, January 26, today (Sunday).
Taking to its website, the Met Office had a brief written forecast for UK towns and cities. Looking to the first day of the working week, the Met Office said it would be generally cloudy with further outbreaks of rain for northeast England and east Scotland, wintry over the hills.
The Met Office added: “Band of rain and strong winds arriving in the west and spreading eastwards.” And its o utlook for Tuesday to Thursday explained: “Remaining unsettled throughout, with rain, showers and possible hill snow moving across the country with strong winds, particularly on Tuesday when another deep area of low pressure arrives.

“Feeling cold.” The Met Office says the areas braced for snow on Monday (January 26) are the following:

Separate weather maps from the forecasting service, published on its website, show snow in the Highlands from the early hours of Monday, spreading gradually southwards, with the North West of England eventually hit from 7pm.
The snow patches then intensify, becoming more wide and large on the Met Office map, which shows precipitation type and per hour.
The hour-by-hour forecast is mirrored by the BBC Weather team. The Beeb says: “Tomorrow will be cloudy. Largely dry in the morning.
“In the afternoon and evening, a band of heavy rain will gradually push into western areas, with hill snow likely by the end of the day.”
Its forecast for Tuesday to Thursday adds: “Tuesday will be unsettled and windy, particularly in the south-west, with rain at times for much of the UK. Hill snow in the north.
“Cloud and rain clearing northwards on Wednesday, with bright spells developing behind it, but a new pulse of showery rain will move into the southwest overnight.
“Another cloudy day on Thursday, with spells of rain moving northwards through the day.”
