Two Toronto men have been charged with first-degree murder after a senior was found dead inside a residence in the city’s west end last month.
On Dec. 9, around 8:20 a.m., Toronto police said they responded to a call near St. Clair Avenue West and Rushton Road, just west of Christie Street.
There, officers found a deceased woman inside an apartment unit.
Police have identified the victim as 79-year-old Jolan Kun, of Toronto. She is the city’s 38th murder of 2025.
Investigators say an autopsy determined Kun’s death is a homicide.
On Jan. 24, police executed a Criminal Code search warrant.
Ashton Drysdale, 38, of Toronto, was arrested and is facing several charges including first-degree murder along with a number of firearms-related offences. He was scheduled to appear in bail court that day.
Police said a second Criminal Code search warrant was also executed.
Kaream Hines, 38, of Toronto, was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in bail court on Jan. 25.
The charges have not ben proven in court.
