PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Philadelphia Streets Department has announced a series of road closures around Center City due to snow removal.
Penn Square around City Hall and nearby streets will be closed from 4 p.m. Tuesday through 12 a.m.
This closure includes the following:
Penn Square around City HallNorth Broad Street from Arch Street to City HallSouth Broad Street from Chestnut Street to City Hall15th Street from Arch Street to Chestnut StreetJFK Boulevard from Filbert Street to 16th StreetEast Market Street from 13th Street to City HallWest Market Street from 16th Street to City Hall
Officials say the operation will involve dozens of vehicles, including excavators and loaders, to quickly and efficiently remove tons of snow.
Crews used the same snow removal operation in North Philadelphia along Girard Avenue and nearby neighborhoods, officials added.
The Streets Department asks residents to continue avoiding unnecessary travel.
