A collision involving two transport trucks closed the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Odessa.

According to a social media post, the OPP’s communications team reported the closure at Lennox and Addington Rd 4 shortly after 12:30 p.m.

There is no access to Highway 401 westbound from Lennox and Addington from the Napanee OnRoute.

Officials with the OPP are asking motorists to avoid travel if possible due to deteriorating road conditions.

“Several areas are currently experiencing heavy snowfall and strong winds, creating whiteout conditions on roadways. Visibility is significantly reduced, and surfaces are becoming slippery and icy, leading to unpredictable travel conditions and potential delays,” read a social media post.
