DEFOREST, Wis. — QTS is not moving forward with a proposed data center in DeForest.

QTS sent the following statement to News 3 Now:

“Over the past several months, QTS has had the honor of getting to know the people of DeForest and engaging in extensive discussions with residents and local leaders about our proposed data center and the benefits it could bring to the community.”

“Through our engagement, it has become clear that now is not the right time for our proposed project to move forward in DeForest.” We value the relationships we’ve built — including with the Village staff and Trustees, Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin and Alliant Energy — and remain committed to executing on opportunities in communities that Alliant Energy serves across Wisconsin and Iowa.”

QTS said it will continue its $1.5 million partnership with UW-Madison to advance research into responsible data center development.
