Evacuation Order for Portion of Badger Due to Flooding

The Town of Badger who declared a state of emergency Wednesday evening has now ordered the evacuation of several areas of the community due to flooding.

The evacuation includes parts of Beothuk Street, Earle Street, Maple Street, and River Road. Affected residents are being asked to leave their homes and register at a reception centre set up at the Badger Community Centre on Maple Street.

The Provincial Emergency Operations Centre has been activated to ‘Level 2’ and is monitoring the situation.
