DALLAS — Two men accused of firing guns off an Interstate 30 bridge during a crowded New Year’s Eve celebration in Dallas have been arrested, police said Thursday.

Police released video that showed two different men firing a weapon off a bridge as people gathered on I-30 to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Downtown Dallas. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Anthony Acevedo, 20, and Jose Alarcon-Sanchez, 18, both of Grand Prairie, were arrested on charges of firing a gun within a municipality, Dallas Deputy Police Chief William Griffith said. Acevedo has posted bond. Alarcon-Sanchez has an immigration hold and remains in custody, Griffith said.

Anderson Derce Lara, 25, of Midlothian, was also arrested as part of the investigation. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in a separate incident from November, Griffith said. In the November incident, Lara is accused of firing a gun into a vehicle that was occupied by three adults and three children, according to Griffith.

“Let me be very clear: If you put lives at risk in Dallas, we will identify you, investigate thoroughly and hold you accountable,” Chief Daniel Comeaux said at a news conference Thursday. “This is an example of that.”

Deputy Chief William Griffith said detectives found more than a hundred spent shell casings at the scene of the shooting. Dallas police worked with Grand Prairie police and the ATF to find two suspects in the shooting. As they investigated, video evidence from the incident showed a third suspect who was wanted in an earlier aggravated assault case, Griffith said.
