Aggressive Roaming Dogs Put Down by Police After Attacking Four People in Pouch Cove

The RNC had to dispatch two roaming dogs that had attacked and injured four people in Pouch Cove earlier today.

Police were called around 1:00 this afternoon about two large dogs roaming the area and behaving aggressively.

Two of the four people attacked suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

RNC worked with members of the Pouch Cove Volunteer Fire Department to contain the animals on a property, but their continued aggressive behavior led officers to “make the difficult decision” to use lethal force to subdue the animals.

Police are working with the Chief Veterinary Officer as part of the ongoing investigation.

No charges have been laid at this time.
