Chelsea are preparing for their third Premier League clash of Liam Rosenior’s tenure, and it may just be the toughest test yet.

It’s a London derby at Stamford Bridge as Nuno Espirito Santo brings his West Ham United side.

West Ham are on a run of three wins in all competitions, which includes impressive performances against both Tottenham and Sunderland in recent weeks.

But Chelsea are on an impressive run of their own, having won four straight since the loss to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. And Liam Rosenior‘s side have only conceded one goal in the Premier League.

And one boost heading into the game is the fact that Cole Palmer is ready to start from the off after his two assists in the Champions League.

While Liam Delap is putting in his own hard graft.

In an era where we spend £1bn on technical players, is the long throw too ‘cheap’ for a club like Chelsea?🤔

Liam Delap puts in extra training ahead of West Ham

Liam Delap has struggled to establish himself in the Chelsea starting lineup since moving to Stamford Bridge, both under Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior.

Just two goals to his name in all competitions this season. A mixture of a lack of discipline, an injury and consistency issues have made it difficult.

And there were even claims that Premier League clubs feel Delap should have joined Man United instead.

But he has the right mentality. In Chelsea training ahead of West Ham, Liam Delap can be seen getting some shooting practice in after the other players went back inside.

It’s this type of attitude that sets players apart.

Liam Delap needs to take his opportunities

Joao Pedro’s form at Chelsea has made it almost impossible for Liam Delap to break into the starting lineup, especially as Rosenior only plays with one striker.

The important thing is that Delap has the backing of Liam Rosenior, it’s just down to him to deliver whenever he gets his next chance.

But there’s the FA Cup clash against Hull City coming up in February that provides a massive opportunity for Delap on multiple levels. The second being it’s his former club, as well as Rosenior’s.
