The rate of goals across the EFL has seemingly slowed as we approach half-time. Just two have been scored in the Premier League this afternoon.
League Two: Reading are two goals up against Northampton Town with around 13 minutes left to play. That game kicked off at 2pm.

Championship: Conor Chaplin and Millenic Alli both get on the scoresheet to put Portsmouth 2-0 up against West Brom.
Championship: Mihailo Ivanović strikes to put Millwall level with Sheffield United after 17th-minute goal from Andre Brooks.
Meanwhile, Myles Peart-Harris scores an own-goal to put Birmingham ahead against Oxford United.
Viktor Gyökeres has not had a glowing review so far…
Sean Orlowicz says: “Watching Gyokeres pass that throw in straight back out of play… I think I’ve seen enough. His strength and finishing is not worth the seemingly complete lack of technical ability. He’s a bust and needs to be dropped if Arsenal are going to win this league.”
Calieb Jones adds: “As every game goes by I’m convinced Arsenal got a turd in Gyokeres. Not once has he looked like the 25 goal striker we need. It’s late January and he’s had plenty of opportunity.”

Championship: Middlesbrough score the first Championship goal of the afternoon through to Hayden Hackney, who capitalises on a mistake from Vladan Kovačević.
League Two: Will Grigg strikes to give Chesterfield the lead against Walsall.
League One: Jake Beesley scores to put Burton 1-0 up against Cardiff.
League Two: Shaun Whalley fires Accrington Stanley into a 1-0 lead against Cheltenham. Meanwhile, Ben Thompson gives Bromley the advantage at Gillingham and Danny Rose fires home a shot for Barrow against Swindon.

Joe Pearson says:
“I don’t want to be that guy, but whenever I see the words “stress fracture” and “foot” together, I think the player’s career is all but over. The NBA is full of examples: Yao Ming, Sam Bowie, Bill Walton. They don’t heal without surgery, and even then it takes years. At his age (30), I just don’t see a rosy future for Grealish.”
It’s such a shame that Grealish’s season has come to an end so prematurely. He had a great start to the campaign and looked like he was really enjoying his football again. Hopefully he gets another chance at Everton, whether that be another loan or a permanent deal.

Arsenal fan Lenny Peters has messaged in to say:
“As much as Arsenal win with ease against Kairat and Both Havertz & Gyokeres scored. They also seemed to get in each others space a few times. I wonder if they could be great if terrible together?”
I found it quite fun to watch the dynamic between the two in that game. Although they were very close together at times they also appeared to help each other for their goals.
Havertz assisted Gyökeres with a through ball for the opener, then Gyokeres kept a Kairat defender out of the way for Havertz to score his.
It’ll be interesting to see how the duo operate against Leeds today…
David Moyes confirmed on Friday that Jack Grealish will have to undergo surgery on a foot injury, meaning he will likely miss the rest of the season.

Hello, good afternoon and welcome to another clockwatch! We’ve got three Premier League games to look forward to this afternoon, along with fixtures in the Championship, League One, League Two and from across Europe.
Arsenal will look to bounce back from last week’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United against Leeds at Elland Road, with Manchester City hot on their heels in the title race. A win for the Gunners will see them move seven points clear at the top of the table before City face Tottenham tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Wolves host Bournemouth as they look to close the gap on Burnley in the relegation scrap. A win for the Cherries could see them leapfrog Brighton.
Speaking of, the Seagulls host Everton at the Amex Stadium with the aim of overtaking David Moyes’ side in the table and moving up to 10th.
