The Frenchman has two more options available to bulk up his bench with their Icelandic striker Kristi Montgomery returning. George Pratt has been added to the casualty list but, otherwise, Rovers are again much stronger. Ismael said pre-match he has a welcome headache now to select the starting XI and his matchday squad.

Ryan Alebiosu has benefitted from a full week of training and is now in contention to start. Hayden Carter also boosted his match sharpness with an hour for the Under-21s this week.

Rovers are unlikely to make too many changes after a much more stable performance against Watford. With no fresh signings available, there may only be a tweak or two.

Balazs Toth will be in goal, with Alebiosu potentially coming in at right-back. That may see Lewis Miller shift into the middle alongside Sean McLoughlin with Eiran Cashin at left-back. The versatility of that defence means it can easily transition from a four to a three-man rearguard.

Ahead of them, it could be more of the same. Adam Forshaw did well alongside Sondre Tronstad, with Todd Cantwell ahead of them in the number 10 role.

With Gudjohnsen very unlikely to start, Yuki Ohashi will be down the middle, flanked by Mathias Jorgensen and Ryoya Morishita.

Predicted Rovers XI: Toth; Alebiosu, Miller, McLoughlin, Cashin; Forshaw, Tronstad; Jorgensen, Cantwell, Morishita; Ohashi.
